Canada Must Open Doors to Immigration Says Minister of Immigration: Must Have Large Population to Re

Whether we wish to or not, we must recognise the fact that we must take a positive attitude with regard to the question of admitting new immigrants, #r. W. A. Gordon, the Minister of Immigration and Labour, has declared in the Federal Parliament at Ottowa. This is essential, he said, to make it possible for Canada to meet its heavy financial obligations.

We must have a large population, the Minister went on, if we wish to repay our immense indebtedness, now imposed on a population consisting of only ten million.
