Peace in the ladies garment industry may be disrupted if the Merchant Ladies Garment Association persists in its refusal to sign the agreement reached after mediation on the part of Lieutenant-Governor Herbert H. Lehman.
A membership meeting of the Association will be held today to decide the matter. The Association, which represents the jobbers, now seeks a “conditional agreement” pending the settlement of differences with contractors’ groups which have arisen at the last moment.
