Plans for the reorganization of the Zionist organization were discussed at today’s session of the Actions Committee.
The session heard a motion from Revisionist representatives for the recognition of the Revisionist Union as a separate union within the Zionist organization.
Dissatisfaction was also expressed with the present organization of the Jewish Agency for Palestine and its representation in the Executive. It was pointed out by Josef Sprinzak, Poale Zion leader of Palestine, that while the Jewish Agency has a 50% representation in the Executive, it has not brought about even a 5% introduction of new blood, remaining now as in the past a small group.
Disagreement with this viewpoint was expressed by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, radical Zionist of Germany, who asserted that the reorganization of the non-Zionists is not a Zionist task.
No decision was reached on either of the two projects.
The Revisionist proposal for a new status found many supporters as well as numerous opponents. Those who supported the Revisionist request, deplored, however, the action of the Revisionists in conducting independent political work. The others preferred to reject the Revisionist demand entirely.
