Announce Professor Einstein Accepts Scientific Post in U.S. with Advanced Study Institute

Announcement was made here today that Professor Albert Einstein has accepted a lifelong appointment as a member of the staff of the Institute for Advanced Study in the United States, which is headed by Dr. Abraham Flexner.

A condition of the acceptance is that his work will require Professor Einstein’s stay in the United States for a period of five months only, leaving him free to spend the rest of the year in Germany.

Professor Einstein, despite his emphatic internationalism, is an ardent German patriot. Notwithstanding the enmity directed against him because he is a Jew, he is loyal to his German homeland and has refused many splendid offers which would have necessitated permanent residence abroad, a spokesman for Einstein revealed here today.

The announcement was made in connection with the virulent anti-Semitic attacks against Professor Einstein, who is scored because of Swiss citizenship.

The spokesman for Professor Einstein revealed that he has been a Swiss citizen since the days of his professorship at the University of Zurich, but that this has not meant the relinquishment of his German citizenship.

Professor Einstein is now near Spa on a vacation. He encountered some difficulty in crossing the Belgian border because of his involved citizenship, but the higher Belgium ###### the ### in favor of the famous visitor.

In a press interview from his vacation resort, Professor Einstein has reiterated his unchanging adherence to Germany.
