Emanuel Shinwell, Jewish Laborite, who served in the last Labor government, and a personal friend of Prime Minister MacDonald, will seek election to Parliament as the representative of the Seaham constituency, opposing Premier MacDonald.

Mr. Shinwell will represent the Labor Party in this district at the next general election.

In making known his candidacy, Mr. Shinwell stated that “only the highest sense of loyalty to the Labor movement has induced me to oppose Premier MacDonald. I was for many years among Prime Minister MacDonald’s devoted followers. Now I oppose him because I am taking my stand upon the principles which he has always enunciated.”
