The resignation of Sir Herbert Samuel, British Home Secretary, as a member of the present government, is forecast in today’s issue of the “News Chronicle,” daily organ of the Liberal Party.

The publication intimates that Sir Herbert will be one of two Liberal ministers of the national government to tender his resignation because of their opposition to the tariff agreements entered into recently at the Ottawa Imperial Conference. The other member of the Liberal Party is Sir Archibald Sinclair.

Final decision regarding Samuel’s resignation will be taken at a meeting of the Executive of the Liberal group which is to take place next Wednesday.
