The Assembly of the League of Nations by a unanimous vote today formally admitted Iraq to membership in the League.

Iraq is the first mandated country to be admitted to the League. The Premier of Iraq, Nuri Pasha, expressed the gratitude of his country to the League and Great Britain.

He stated his hope that “in a short time the League will also admit others of our brothers whose destiny is not yet decided.”
