23 Leaders Join Advisory Board of “jewish Current Events”

Twenty-three representatives of leading educational and communal bodies as well as outstanding educators have thus far joined the national advisory board of “Jewish Current Events,” a weekly journal devoted to the Jewish youth of America, which will make its first appearance under the auspices of the “Jewish Daily Bulletin” on Oct. 28.

Membership on the body includes: The Rabbinical Assembly of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America which is to be represented by Rabbi Henry M. Rosenthal of New York and Rabbi Leon S. Lang of Newark; the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, represented by Rabbi I. L. Bril and William Weiss of New York; the United Synagogue of America, represented by Rabbi Alter F. Landesman and Rabbi Samuel M. Cohen of New York; the Women’s League of the United Synagogue of America, represented by Mrs. Charles I. Hoffman of Newark and Mrs. Samuel Spiegel of New York; the Council of Young Israel and Young Israel Synagogue organizations represented by Harry Bluestone and Harry G. Fromberg of New York; the National Council for Jewish Education, represented by A. P. Schoolman of New York and Israel A. Abrams of Pittsburgh; Jacob S. Greenberg of the Board of Education of New York; Dr. Julius B. Maller of New York, Director of the Educational Research Commission on Jewish Education of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Central Conference of American Rabbis; Bernard Isaacs, Superintendent of the United Hebrew Schools of Detroit, Michigan; Ben M. Edidin, Educational Director of the Bureau of Jewish Education, Buffalo; Professor Mordecai M. Kaplan, of the Society for Advancement of Judaism, New York; A. H.

Friedland, Cleveland Hebrew School and Institute, Cleveland; Dr. Leo L. Honor, Director, College of Jewish Studies, Chicago; Israel S. Chipkin, Educational Director, Jewish Education Association, New York; Dr. Jacob S. Golub, director Bureau of Jewish Education, Cincinnati; Harry L. Glucksman, executive director, the Jewish Welfare Board, New York, and Louis Kraft, director of Jewish Center Activities of the Jewish Welfare Board, New York.

David J. Galter, journalist and editorial writer, is the editor of the new publication and there will be an editorial board, consisting of Ben Rosen, director of the Associated Talmud Torahs of Philadelphia, and Dr. Mordecai Soltes, educational director of the Jewish Welfare Board.
