The Convention of the State Federation of Temple Sisterhoods will be held at Temple B’nai B’rith in Los Angeles, October 25, according to an announcement made by Mrs. Alfred Shauer, state president.

In conjunction with the federation meeting an interesting display of ceremonial objects connected with Jewish worship will be on display at the Temple.

A memorial exhibit of the handicrafts and arts work of the late Prof. Boris Schatz, has been opened at the Y.M.-Y.W.H.A. in Newark, N. J. The exhibit is being directed by Bezalel Schatz, son of the noted artist, who last week returned from the Pacific Coast. Young Schatz declared that this will possibly be the last opportunity that American Jewry will have to purchase the art works because he is planning to sail to his home in Palestine to remain there permanently.

Work was recently commenced on a $5,000 combined community center and temple by Congregation Beth Jacob of Menlo Park and Palo Alto, California. The proposed edifice will be located mid-way between these two communities and will minister to the needs of conservative Jewry in the peninsula south of San Francisco. The congregation is under the leadership of Kenneth Carlton Zwerin.
