Warsaw University Rector Warns Police Will Be Called in if Peace Not Maintained

The rector of Warsaw University yesterday informed the various departmental heads that peace must be maintained within the University else he will be compelled to permit the police to intervene in the event of disturbances.

A National Democratic meeting scheduled for today has been prohibted. Considerable tension obtains in the city. As the anniversary of last year’s student excesses approaches there is fear of a renewal.

As a result special police forces have been stationed in the vicinity of the University campus.
