Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, Palestine High Commissioner, now in London enroute to Geneva where he is to report to the Mandates Commission next week, was the guest of honor yesterday at a dinner held in the Palestine Club.

Norman Bentwich, former Attorney General for Palestine, presided. The guests included Sir Herbert Samuel, first Palestine High Commissioner, Robert Waley Cohen, Sir Philip Hartog, Lord Melchett, Nahum Sokolow, president of the World Zionist Organization, and Dr. Chaim Weizmann, former president of the World Zionist movement.

Dr. Weizmann delivered the principal address and described the hard-

ships suffered by the Jewish people in the Diaspora. Palestine, he said, is their only hope.

Addresses were also delivered by Sir Arthur, Dr. Sokolow and Lord Melchett. The Palestine High Commissioner delivered a very brief address, in which he said that he has taken the Palestine people to his heart. Mr. Bentwich explained that in view of his position, Sir Arthur cannot be expected to speak on Palestine.
