Alfred M. Cohen, president of the Independent Order of B’nai Brith, and Dr. I. M. Rubinow, executive secretary, were honored at a luncheon here which was attended by prominent leaders.

Senator Cohen proposed that a Jewish Welfare Fund should be organized in this city to include all national and International Jewish efforts that are not included in the annual Federation campaign. A number of large Jewish organizations have already endorsed the project, but no official steps have been taken to bring about the establishment of the Welfare Fund.

A conference took place the same day at the office of Emil Mayer, prominent in Jewish communal work here, which was attended by representatives of the Y. M. H. A., American Palestine Campaign, B’nai Brith, and other organizations.

A reception in honor of Mr. Cohen and Dr. Rubinow, was held by the local branches of the B’nai Brith at the Y. M. H. A.
