Abraham Joffe, Rochester Philanthropist, Dies

Abraham Joffe, well known philanthropist, active in Jewish work for the last forty-two years, died here this morning at the age of eighty-eight.

Funeral services will take place tomorrow. Rabbis of all the synagogues in the city will take part in the services.

Mr. Joffe was the founder of the Free Loan Society, the Jewish Children’s Home and the Rochester Hebrew School.

He was a contributor to Zionist Funds and made generous gifts to Yeshivahs in this country and abroad.
