Mishu Weisman, Jewish deputy, was attacked in Parliament yesterday by George Cuza, son of the anti-Semitic leader, as he was delivering an address protesting against the ritual murder agitation conducted against the Jews by Jassy students.
Deputy Weisman sustained an injury to his eye at the hands of his attacker.
The interpellation was in connection with the agitation conducted by a student paper, “Curentul Studentesc.” Deputy Weisman pointed out that the Christian religion is based upon the Jewish religion whereupon Cuza cried out: “Intamy,” and fell upon Weisman, who defended himself.
The Undersecretary of Education expressed his shame and indignation that this incident should have occurred.
Later Foreign Minister Titulescu, in the Parliamentary lobby, expressed his regrets to Deputy Weisman.
