The ruling handed down by the District Commissioner on November 17th that 3,500 dunams of land in Haifa Bay owned by the Jewish National Fund and the Bayside Land Corporation, an American Jewish firm, must be returned to the Arabs, is not a final legal judgment but an administrative measure valid only until the court pronounces a final verdict, according to a statement issued today by the Jewish National Fund.

The disputed territory, says the Jewish National Fund, has not yet passed into the hands of the Arabs but remains the legal possession of the Jewish National Fund and the Bayside Land Corporation.

In previous disputes over Haifa Bay land the court has ruled in favor of the Jewish National Fund, rejecting the Arab claims.
