5 Jews and 4 Arabs Slightly Wounded in Labor Clash

Download PDF for this date

Five Jews and four Arabs were slightly wounded in a labor clash which occurred at Nes Zionah.

A Jewish orange contractor had engaged only Arab labor for work in connection with the orange picking, boycotting Jewish labor. Jewish pickets persuaded the Arabs to leave the grove, but later encouraged by the contractor, the Arabs returned to work, resulting in a clash between the pickets and the Arabs.

Nine Jewish pickets and numerous Arabs were arrested by the police who arrived on the scene. The injured have been taken to a hospital.
