Judge Max G. Baron, chairman of the Board of Jewish Education and vice-president of the Zionist Organization of St. Louis, was officially inducted into office as Judge of the Circuit Court in the presence of several hundred distinguished members of the bar and representatives of leading organizations.
Hon. Guy Thompson, retiring president of the American Bar Association, paid tribute to Judge Baron and the qualities which enabled him to rise from news vendor to a high judiciary post.
Tributes were also paid by Judge Franklin Miller, Judge William T. Jones, Emil Mayer, president of the St. Louis Bar Association, and Joseph T. Davis, who presided. A menorah, with seven candles, was presented by Samuel I. Sievers, B’nai Brith leader. The Zionist Organization of St. Louis presented a Shield of David, composed of flowers.
