An American Zionist leader will head the Jewish company which will take over the lease of 50,000 dunams of land in the personal domain of Emir Abdullah in Transjordania, reports in the Arab press today declare.

Emir Abdullah, in connection with the leasing of his land, has agreed that at least 3,000 Jews be employed in Transjordania, the Arab press reports further.

Arab antagonism to the leasing of Transjordan land to Jews is growing apace.

The Arab papers publish heated articles and demand of the Emir why he does not deny that he has concluded a lease with the Jews.

At a meeting yesterday which lasted six hours, the Istaklal Party, Arab nationalist independence party, resolved to send a delegation to Emir Abdullah to persuade him not to consummate his transaction with a Jewish company. The lease of land to the Jews constitutes the greatest blow to the Arabs, it was emphasized at the meeting.

Telegrams, supplemented by personal visitations from delegations in various Arab centers, have reached Emir Abdullah. All seek to influence him against proceeding with the agreement.

Leading Jewish and Arab circles are following with intense interest the present developments on the outcome of which the entire future of Transjordania is believed to rest.
