Felix M. Warburg, banker and philanthropist, resigned from membership on the board of trustees of the American Museum of Natural History, and his son, Frederick M. Warburg, was elected to membership in his place at the Spring meeting of the board, it was announced yesterday. Mr. Warburg resigned after 23 years of service on the board, which adopted a resolution expressing regret at his leaving.
His financial contributions to the museum have totalled over $200,000, it was revealed, but “even more outstanding than his financial contributions,” the resolution stated, “have been his contributions of time, of advice freely given, of wisdom and of devotion to the museum, in the administration of which he has borne so great a part. His record will stand as an inspiration.”
