The Greek and Spanish governments have reached an agreement on the citizenship status of a number of wealthy Jewish families which has been the subject of controversy for some period, each government desiring to claim them.
Under the agreement, reached by the Spanish Minister in Athens and Foreign Minister Rhalist, 249 Jewish families are recognized as Spanish.
The agreement finds, however, that the majority of the families over whom the contention has arisen, have left Greece for Palestine and France, owing to the severe economic crisis in Greece.
