One thousand prominent New Yorkers will be present Wednesday night at the dinner in the Commodore Hotel which will launch this city’s campaign for funds for the relief of stricken Jews in Germany. The German Relief Campaign of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee has fixed New York’s quota at $1,000,000 of the $2,000,000 fund sought nationally.
Governor Herbert H. Lehman will be one of the speakers at the function. Others include Felix M. Warburg, Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, the national chairman, who recently returned from Germany; Dudley D. Sicher, New York City chairman, and Hendrik Willem van Loon, noted author and historian. Reservations for the dinner are now being made.
