A breaking off in the reported engagement between Chancellor Adolf Hitler and Frau Winifred Wagner, is seen as certain as a result of Frau Wagner having engaged two Jewish singers for the Wagnerian festival at Beyreuth, which she is supervising.

The two Jews are Alexander Kipnis, formerly a singer in a synagogue choir, and later well-known in America, where he sang with the Chicago Opera Company, and Emmanuel List.
