The first Austrian Jewish victims of the Nazi Government’s reprisals against the Austrian Government for expelling German Nazi leaders, reached the German-Austrian boundary today, according to reports from Innsbruck. Although the exact number of Jews expelled in the Nazi retaliation move could not be ascertained, it is feared that a large number of Austrian Jews residing in Germany may be affected.
Renewed Nazi anti-Semitic disorders were reported yesterday in this city, Salzburg and other towns throughout Austria as Nazi gangsters, continuing their terroristic acts against the Dollfuss Government, smashed windows in Jewish stores and homes, set fire to the clubhouse of the Hakoah, famous Jewish sports association, damaged their football field, attacked Jewish pedestrians in the streets and molested Jewish patrons in the cafes. Many Nazi rowdies were arrested.
