At the request of the Jewish Daily Bulletin, Mrs. Szold explains below the attitude of the Hadassah representatives at the Chicago convention on the issue of voting on questions in reference to relationships between the two organizations.—En.
During the discussions on the relations between the Zionist Organization of America and Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, those delegates who were elected by the Hadassah Chapters refrained from participating. It is their opinion that in an agreement to which Hadassah is one party and the Zionist Organization of America is the other, it should voice its opinion only at its own conventions and through action of its National Board in the interim between conventions. It believes that the Zionist Organization of America has the right to make its own decisions as to the relation which it wants to bear to Hadassah and Hadassah reserves to itself the right to accept or to reject the conditions suggested.
