Jewish leaders of western Pennsylvania, northern Ohio and West Virginia will attend the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the German Relief Campaign at the Concordia Club in Pittsburg next Sunday. The relief campaign is being directed by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, national chairman of the campaign, has just sent out a call for delegates to attend the conference.
The arrangements for the Pennsylvania conference are in the hands of a special committee of prominent Pittsburgh Jews, headed by Morris Neaman and assisted by Leo Lehman, Mrs. Saul Lavine, William B. Klee, Mrs. Joseph M. Jackson, Charles H. Joseph, Leonard S. Levin and A. Leo Weil. More than $700,000 has already been contributed to the goal of $2,000,000 set by the campaign, and it is believed that following the conference the western Pennsylvania section will donate generously to the cause. The Pittsburgh campaign will be launched immediately following the conference.
