Synagogues of German Jewish communities will not be allowed in the future to employ rabbis and other clergymen who are citizens or subjects of foreign countries unless in each individual case permission is obtained from the local state president, or, in Berlin, from the chief of police. An order to this effect was issued by the ministry of the interior yesterday. The order stated further that even when such permission is obtained additional sanction must be obtained from the ministry of religion.
