The German government has stopped all revolutionary measures. But it is continuing its war against the Jews with redoubled energy. Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels, fanatical minister of propaganda and public enlightenment, has declared that it is still the German watchword that Jewry must perish. And the Prussian minister of education, Dr. Bernhard Rust, in being made a freeman at the famous North Sea resort, Norderney, where Heinrich Heine once lived and worked, demanded that the citizens of that island refuse to allow Jews to visit there.
Soon every German health resort will have Nazi freemen and no Jewish visitors. At the same time Jews are finding obstacles put in their way to prevent them from going to foreign resorts. According to the National Socialist conception, the Jew has no right to live. Therefore, by Nazi logic, he has no business going to a health resort to try to recuperate.
IN A DIFFICULT PLIGHT
Everyone willing to see the truth must realize that there is no further possibility for Jews to live in Germany. We must not allow ourselves to be misled by German Jews who dare not speak the truth. They are indeed in a difficult plight, for the National Socialists threaten to treat them as hostages and make them suffer for everything anti-German done abroad. The German government considers that everything done to aid the Jews is directed against Germany. They aim at complete destruction of the Jews without raising too much of an outcry abroad. They intend to deprive the Jews finally of German citizenship after they have made sure they own all Jewish possessions. Perhaps then they will place no obstacles in the path of Jewish emigration from Germany.
Therefore the matter not only concerns world Jewry, but all countries in the world. Every country must cooperate to prevent German Jews from being robbed of their possessions and being forced in the near future to be supported in other countries. The only thing for which the Hitler government still has some respect is the protest of foreign public opinion and the danger of being compelled to compensate the Jews for the possessions of which they robbed them.
POGROM NEWS TO THEM
An international campaign must therefore be carried on without the cooperation of the German Jews. In fact, the campaign might even have to be against the German Jews, for unfortunately many sections of German Jewry still have no clear idea of their own dreadful position. A few German Jews, particularly those who have fled to London, cannot conceive that there has already been a pogrom not only in the Grenadierstrasse, but that something has also happened to the nice Jews of the Kurfuerstendamm. They imagine there is a mistake somewhere and seem surprised because Hieler does not let them explain the mistake to him, so they try to mislead Jewish and non-Jewish world opinion about things that have happened and are continuing to happen in Germany.
The Jews of the world, if they desire to help the Jews of Germany, must keep to these three main principles. First, there have been horrible abominations against the Jews in Germany on a vast scale. Second, the abominations have not been everything; much worse has been the atrocious legislation depriving Jews of every opportunity of earning a livelihood, defaming them and imposing on their children in the schools inconceivable torment of the soul. Third, where these laws do not suffice utterly to destroy the Jews of Germany all economic organizations have been driven into a secret but effective boycott against the Jews, ruining their enterprises and annihilating Jewish employers and employees.
This is the truth. Everything else is propagandists’ fraud which will not become the truth because the Jews are helping to spread it.
