Jerusalem Mayor Yields Moslem Congress Position

The Mayor of Jerusalem, Ragheb Bey Nashashibi, has relinquished his post as president of the Palestine Moslem Congress and has left the political arena. The Palestine Moslem Congress was established in opposition to the Islamic Conference.

The mayor said that he had definitely severed his connection with all parties and would no longer be active in politics. He said he wished his country and its inhabitants, regardless of race or creed, every possible happiness.
