Samuel C. Lamport, head of the Lamport Exporting Company and noted for his active work in many phases of Jewish life, sailed on the Berengaria Saturday to investigate the possibilities of foreign markets for American goods. Mr. Lamport is acting for former Senator Smith W. Brookhart of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration.

Before he sailed Mr. Lamport declared that he was going abroad “to get into personal contact with prospective customers for the exportable surplus of our various products.

“I want to get a birdseye view of the situation as it looks at this time. I will make an earnest effort to bring back facts that will enable us to adjust our progress to the conditions that now exist.”

Mr. Lamport declared that the American exporters are wholeheartedly behind President Roosevelt and the NRA.
