The National Socialist movement in Germany is prepared to spend millions of dollahs for the purchase of cinema theatres outside Germany to facilitate the spread of Nazi propaganda.

The extent and direction of this move were revealed today in the current issue of The Cinema Magazine, which states that Nazi advance agents have been visiting the leading European capitals intending to purchase chains of movie houses in important towns, preferably industrial centers, the Nazi Film Bureau being prepared to pay up to five million pounds for a specific number of moving picture houses.

Already, according to the British film periodical, the Nazis have obtained the circuit of movie houses in France, the leading theatre of which is the Aubert Palace; other houses involved are the Gaumont Franco-Aubert chain.

Nazi envoys are reported to be proceeding toward Hollywood in an effort to persuade Aryan stars to act in pictures impregnated with the Nazi spirit in an effort to counteract what they consider “the Jewish spirit” in films.

The purchase of moving picture theatres outside Germany is regarded as an essential preliminary to the exhibition on an international scale of Nazi propaganda films, the production of which has been proceeding at a feverish pace.
