Inquiries regarding tariff regulations are being received here in increasing number from Palestine merchants since the Canadian government decided to import in quantity oranges raised in Palestine.
Yves Lamontagne, Canadian Trade Commissioner at Cairo who is visiting the Dominion, said today that reciprocal agreements are pending between the two countries.
Mr. Lamontagne, whose supervision covers Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Cyprus, the Anglo-Egyptian Soudan, Iraq, Persia and Abyssinia with a combined population of about 50,000,000 persons, said that conditions in Palestine are prosperous on account of the influx of Jewish capital, in spite of the world-wide dedepression.
