Emissaries from Germany are visiting Zadikim courts, tribunals of saintly rabbis, in an effort to prevent the proclamation of “cherems” or excommunications, on buyers of German goods.

Three Jews were seriously wounded, one seriously, in the township of Michalow on the eve of Rosh Hashonah when they were shot by three unknown assassins who fired into the Jewish community baths. Hersh Krapiwko, 46 years old, was mortally wounded. A strict investigation is under way by the authorities.
