Sir Herbert Samuel at Hadassah

Sir Herbert Samuel, first High Commissioner of Palestine and leader of the Liberal Party in England, will be the guest of honor at a reception given by the 2,000 Hadassah women of Greater New York, at the Isaac M. Wise Memorial Hall of Temple Emanu-El, 1 East 65th Street, tomorrow afternoon at three o’clock. He will be introduced by Mrs. David de Sola Pool, president of the New York Chapter of Hasah, who has just returned from a visit to Palestine. Mrs. Samuel W. Halperin, national president of Hadassah, will also speak. There will be a musical program featuring Nina Gordani. There will be no admission charge and the public is invited.

THE HORIZON CLUB

Mrs. Caroline Greenfield, known for her work on behalf of the Zionist Organization, Hadassah and the American Jewish Congress, is organizing a new club, the Horizon Club, at the Hotel Mayflower, 15 Central Park West. The club will be devoted to all things of interest dealing with music, literature, drama and international affairs. The program is planned to be of special interest to Jewish women.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

A Harvest Festival sponsored by the New York City Branch of the Women’s League of the United Synagogue will be held this evening at eight o’clock in the new Succah which has been erected on the lawn of the inner court of the Jewish Theological Seminary, Broadway at 122nd Street. Succoth dances, songs, music and refreshments will contribute to the holiday spirit.

On Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock, Mrs. Boaz Cohen will speak on “The Romance of the Feast of Booths” over Station WINS.

MT. NEBOH SISTERHOOD

The Sisterhood of Mt. Neboh Temple will hold a memorial service on Thursday, October 12, at 10:15 A.M., to pay tribute to its members who have passed away since the Sisterhood was organized.

TALK BY DR. ROSMARIN

Dr. Trude Weiss Rosmarin, director of the School of the Jewish Woman, will speak on “Why Adult Education?” before the University Heights Chapter of Hadassah tomorrow evening at 8:30 o’clock at the Burnside Manor, Burnside and Harrison Avenues, the Bronx.

MRS. BRIN ORGANIZATION GUEST

Mrs. Arthur Brin, president of the National Council of Jewish Women, is attending a meeting of the Executive Committee in New York at National Headquarters today. In connection with this visit East, she will be the guest of the directors of the Brooklyn Section on Tuesday and on Wednesday she will be the guest of honor at a luncheon meeting of the Board of Directors of the Yonkers Section.
