The anti-Semitic boycott organization known as the “Rozwoj” was closed down by the Polish authorities today and their premises sealed on the ground that they were endangering the public peace.
At the same time new outbursts of anti-Semitism are being reported daily, provoked by the Endeks, notorious anti-Semite political party, despite the fact that they are strongly checked by the authorities.
The opening of the colleges has been used by the Endeks as the occasion for strong anti-Semitic disturbances. An Endek student actually attempted to drag a Jewish professor from the platform during a lecture in the Agricultural College. Pro-government students succeeded in collaring the offender and turning him over to the police. He is now faced with expulsion. During the incident Endek students supported the assailant, sang anti-Jewish songs and shouted abuse at the Jewish professors.
At the Polytechnic University, the rector was shouted down by anti-Semitic students when he appealed for peace in his opening address.
