Stricter requirements have been introduced for journalists, lawyers and doctors. They have been ordered to produce proof of Aryan parentage for at least four generations. Up to now the law has usually been satisfied with evidence dating back three generations.

The convention of all-German architects association unanimously resolved today to expel all Jewish members. Similarly the engineers association resolved to admit only Aryans to membership. The technical scientists group also resolved to exclude all Jews.

On the other hand, the Reich Commissar for sick funds today annulled the boycott against the Jewish opticians ordering all sick-fund societies in Berlin to make no distinction between Jewish and non-Jewish firms in placing their orders. This is the first direct result of the order issued by Dr. Kurt Schmitt, Minister of Economics, prohibiting the boycotting of Jewish businesses on the ground that it is against the best interests of the country to do so.

But many provincial German newspapers point out today that “the order of our much-respected Minister of Economics is not law for the members of the Nazi party. We continue to do what we find necessary.” At the same time, provincial Nazi leaders declared that they would obey only Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” (My Struggle) in which the boycott is urged.
