Dr. Nathan Krass has resigned as senior rabbi of Temple Emanu-El on account of illness.
According to present plans, a special meeting of the congregation will be held Monday evening when a successor to Dr. Krass will be named. Judge Irving Lehman, president of the Board of Trustees of the Temple, will preside.
During his ten years’ service as spiritual leader of the wealthiest synagogue in the country, Dr. Krass was active in meeting the cost of building the present $8,000,000 edifice, Fifth Avenue and Sixty-fifth Street.
