A memorial service honoring the late King Feisal was held in the local synagogue by the Jewish community here. The Iraq consul and other guests were present.

Chief Rabbi David Prato recalled that in an interview with the late monarch he had listened to glowing praise of the Jews from King Feisal. Rabbi Prato added that the 60,000 Jews of Bagdad are living peacefully with their neighbors, and King Feisal had applauded their spirit.
