Central Relief Body Not Affected by Ban on Jewish Relief Fund Collections

The recent government order prohibiting all Jewish fund collections for relief purposes for the duration of the Nazi winter relief drive does not affect the activities of the Central Auschuss, the central Jewish relief body which is supported partly by funds raised in Germany and partly by funds allocated to it by foreign Jewish agencies, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was informed today.

The relief body will continue its normal activities under the direction of Friedrich Brodnitz, son of Dr. Julius Brodnitz, president of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith. Friedrich Brodnitz succeeds to the post of executive director of the organization made vacant by the sudden death of Dr. Ludwig Tietz. Pro-Zionist in his sympathies, he is at present in Palestine but is returning to Germany immediately to take up his new duties.
