Terming Adolf Hitler a “super Al Capone” and his regime in Germany to be “racketeering in its worst form”, Mrs. Miriam Beard Vaughts, daughter of Charles Beard, noted American historian, told the League of Women Voters here today that there is no freedom of life or property in Germany today.
“It is treason to read a copy of the New York Times in Germany”, she declared. “It is treason to listen to a foreign radio program.”
Mrs. Vaughts and her husband, a former German army officer, fled from Germany earlier this year because of her husband’s Jewish ancestry.
