The one-day special convention of the Independent Order Brith Abraham, Sunday decided to raise the death benefit assessment in order to comply with the demands of the Massachusetts and Pennsylvania state insurance departments.
According to the report of the credential committee, 420 lodges of the order were represented at the convention by 996 delegates.
The Order decided to take $12,500 a month from its reserve fund and assess the balance pro rata month to month according to the number of deaths where the family of the deceased gets $500.00 This will apply to 75,000 class A members.
According to reports submitted to the convention, the total membership of the Order is 95,000 in 500 lodges in 27 states.
The convention also voted to reaffirm by resolution, the endorsement of the anti-Nazi boycott.
After voting not to hold another convention until 1935, the convention adjourned.
