The Union of Roumanian Jews decided today by a vote of twenty to eight against forming a bloc with the Jewish party in the forthcoming general election in Roumania. The president of the Union, Dr. William Filderman, advised the Roumanian Jewish population to vote for those political parties which stand for peace and order.

The Liberal party, which is now in power, has included Zigmund Kirman, president of the Bucharest Jewish community, and Dr. Asra Berkowitz, in its list of parliamentary candidates.

The Jewish party has named an independent list consisting of Deputy Michael Landau, Rabbi Zirelson and Jacob Zipstein.

Government supporters are doing everything in their power to hinder the election campaign of the Jewish party. In Galatz, the Jewish party list of candidates suddenly disappeared from the election headquarters. As a result the Jewish party will be unable to participate in the election in this town.

However, the Liberal government headed by Premier Ion Duca is proceeding with the most vigorous measures against the Roumanian anti-Semites.

As a result of the recent disturbances in Jassy, in which houses in the Jewish quarter were burned by the Iron Guardist followers of Professor Alexander Cuza, forty-three members of the anti-Semitic Iron Guard are under arrest, waiting to be tried for their share in the riots.
