William W. Prager, assistant United States Attorney, Saturday announced that no efforts will be made to extradite Heinz Spanknoebel, who has been reported as being in Germany.
Spanknoebel, creator and leader of the League of Friends of New Germany, an organization whose branches throughout the country have been carrying on an intensive campaign against the Jews in support of Hitler, disappeared on October 27 when a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was later indicted by the federal grand jury on charges of representing the Hitler Government in this country without having presented his credentials to the United States Department of State.
According to reports reaching the office of the United States Attorney, Mrs. Maria Griebl, who took a prominent part in the federal investigation of Nazi affairs in this city, has gone to Berlin to confer with Spanknoebel.
