Delegates from Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Youngstown and Warren, Ohio; Detroit, Mich; Charleston, West Virginia, and Louisville, Kentucky, will attend the Central States Conference of Junior Hadassah to be held in Cincinnati on January 14 and 15.
An informal party will be held Saturday night, Jan. 13 at the Netherland Plaza. Luncheon will be served Sunday. Miss Pessa Polasky, president of Cincinnati Junior Hadassah, and Ruth Weiner, conference chairman, are in charge of the arrangements.
FEDERATION WOMEN
The Women’s Division of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies announced a series of twelve lectures on “Trends in Social Work”, to be given beginning January 16 at the Federation Building, 71 W. 47th Street. The lecture series is designed to give a background of information to women who support welfare projects either financially or by active service on directorates of charitable institutions. An educational committee consisting of Mrs. Harold M. Lehman, chairman; Mrs. Samuel A. Lewisohn, associate chairman; Mrs. Benjamin J. Buttenwieser and Mrs. Nathan Straus, Jr., has prepared the course. Mrs. Sidney C. Borg is chairman of the division.
BORO PARK HADASSAH
The Boro Park Junior Hadassah will hold a bridge and dance Sunday evening, January 21, at the Park Central Hotel, Seventh Avenue and 55th Street. In charge of the arrangements are Miss S. Cohen, Miss {SPAN}###nnie{/SPAN} Gardner and Miss Nora E. Achulman.
FANNIE HURST’S COMMITTEE
The American Committee for the Relief of Victimized German Children, of which Fannie Hurst is the chairman, will inaugurate a merchandise bazaar as part of its money-raising campaign. The fund will be distributed on a non-sectarian basis. Heading the bazaar committee are Lady Elsie Duveen, Mrs. Christian Holmes, Lady Mendl, Mrs. Nathan Straus, Jr., Mrs. Sam Lewisohn and Dr. Henry Moskowitz.
Professor Albert Einstein and Professor Paul Langevin are honorary presidents of the American Committee.
