Jewish women of this city have started upon a round of charitable activities, ranging all the way from relfef for local institutons to aid for Palestinian eterpires and German-Jewish children. At lest seven women’s organizations have entered upon the fund raising drives. The Women’s League for Jewish Education has announced a cabaret and dance to be held march 3, proceeds of the affair to go towards local educational projects sponsored by the league.
The B’nai B’rith Auxiliary has organized a spring jubilee for March 24, and in additon many brigdges parties and dinners are being held. The revenues at these affairs will be allotted to the Levi Memorial hospital, the Jewish Orphan Home and the Anti-Defamation league, all B’nai B’rith instiutions.
Hadassah member have also undertaken a series of rummage sales, garden parties and social events to raise raise a donaton for the Hadassah medical organization in Palestine. Thus for between $750 and $1,000 has been collected in this way.
BAZAAR ARRAGED
Women of the Jewish National Fund Concil, together with some meale member, have begun arragements for a bazaar in April, profits of which will be turned chase of new land for refugee set-tlers in Palestine.
The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Milwaukee Hebrew Sheltering hom has held a dance to gatter funds for the mainternace of the institution and plance to gather funds for the maintenance of the institution and plans other affairs later. The home provides shelter for penniless Jewish transients.
A canvass of many Milwaukee Jews is soon to be opened by the auxiliary of the Milwaukee Jewish Orphans’ home to provides a fund for the support of the 15 children of German-Jewish refuges who will be adopted by the home.
A merchandise mart and carnival March 27 and 28 has been chosen by the Couneil of Jewish Women as its method to obtain funds to carry on its educational activities. Various other Jewish women’s organization are also now in the midst of charitable endeavors.
