Philadelphia Showing of ‘romance of a People’ Praised by President

“My dear Mr. Morris: I am interested in the pageant-the “Romance of the People” soon to be presented in Philadelphia.

“The exhibition of the progress of a great race through the centuries undoubtedly has great educational and inspirational value and should serve useful purposes in these directions.

“I wish it were possible for me to witness the presentation of this pageant. That, however, is beyond question just now.

“I hope you will extend to all associated with you in this production my very earnest hope that it will meet with every success.”

The pageant is to open Monday eveing for a limited engagement.

BENEFIT RECITAL

Lucrezia Bori and Albert Spalding will appear in a joint recital for the benefit of the New York Guild for the Jewish Blind at Carnegie Hall April 15. It wil be Mme. Bori’s only New York cancert appearance of the season.
