Jewish Deputy Makes Maiden Speech in Brazilian Chamber

A warning that disregard of the more important problems governing the country’s economic welfare and the attempt to copy “certain countries of a certain color” would lead to economic ruin of Brazil was sounded here by Horatio Lafer, first Jewish deputy of Brazil, in his maiden speech in the Chamber of Deputies.

Dr. Lafer is recognized as an authority on economic affairs and his speech received much favorable comment in the press.
