The Jewish Agency for Palestine has completed a comprehensive plan for settling, maintaining and educating German Jewish children in Palestine, it was announced by Louis Lipsky, executive chairman of the emergency campaign for settlement of German Jewish refugees in Palestine.
The plan covers every phase of child education and training and outlines a detailed method of acclimatization through children’s colonies, training farms for boys and girls, agricultural settlements, and teacher’s training shcools, Mr. Lipsky said.
Children from the kindergarten age to adolescents of eighteen are included in the plan, which is divided into categories as follows: elementary and secondary education; education and training in agriculture; education and training in trades and domestic science; higher education.
A cablegram was received from Dr. Chaim Weizmann, head of the central bureau for the settlement of German Jews, endorsing the plan and urging American Jewry to give its support “in order that the Jewish children of Germany may find a new life and a new future in the freedom and peace of Palestine.”
