Deutsche Zeitung, Nazi Weekly, is Mouthpiece for German Societies

Officially recognizing the United German Societies as an out and out Nazi group, the Deutsche Zeitung, weekly organ of the League of Friends of New Germany, announces in its most recent issue that it has also become the representative organ for the Central Group of the United German Societies.

“Henceforth”, according to the paper, “all official notices and accounts of activities of the United German Societies will appear in the Deutsche Zeitung.”

Carl Nicolai, president of the United German Societies and ardent adherent to the policies of the League of Friends of New Germany, the official Nazi organization in the United States, received the unanimous vote of 26 delegates from various vereins composing the United German Societies.

STARTED LAST SUMMER

First indications of the United German Societies, once one of the most popular German-American groups, veering toward the Nazi policies came last Summer, when Jews withdrew from the league in a body. Prior to this scores of representatives of the League of Friends of New Germany gained control of the United German Societies and were rapidly making the powerful mother organization an instrument for the dissemination of Hitlerite propaganda in the United States and an active agent of the {SPAN}#the{/SPAN}
