Those from Germany wishing to come to this country, whether now in Germany or in other countries, must first produce certain certificates pertaining to their birth, character, etc. They must show ability of self-support either from their own funds or through near relatives. It was pointed out at the State Department that about ninety-eight percent of those applying for permits who have relatives in this country, have had visas granted.
Where there are no near relatives, persons interested in those entering this country must show additional proof of their ability and willingness to support the immigrant.
