Carl Byoir,general director of the national celebration of President Roosevlt’s fifty-second bithday,is reputed to be one of the principal Nazi propaganda agents in this country,according to evidence in the possession of Representative Samuel N. Dickstein ( D,.N.Y.),chairman of the House Committee on Naturalization and Immigration.
This was revealed today to the Bulletin as Dickstein announced that he would make a thorough investigation into Byoir’s activities should Congress authorize a sweeping in quiry into Nazi propaganda in the United States.
“Byoir’s presence on such a patriotic committee as that which celebrated the President’s birthday was entirely out of keeping with the occasion, Dickstein declared.Byoir’s connection with the national committee should be looked into.He may in future take advatage of his contacts with notable Americans through the celebration committee; he may endeavor to spread Nazi propaganda with the aid of unsuspe#may have gained because of his apparent partriotic zealousness.
